N/Dn the DS side stair of the rig floor
N/Dn the Derrick man escape device from the ground anchor.
Nipple down the fast line stabilizer
Fold the casing stabbing board
Open rotary hose from the TDS gooseneck
Open the dead line clamp and free the dead line from the dead line anchor
Place the stoppers back on the BOP handling trolley beams under the floor
Open the winch airline hoses which might get damaged while lowering the floor
Nipple down the high pressure lines from mud pump to the rig floor including the ground manifold
Nipple down the HP hose of the dual stand pipe
Nipple down the high pressure vertical lines from the rig floor to substructure
Nipple down the stand pipe manifold
Nipple down the Ezy torque
Open the fast end clamp from the draw works drum
Place the drill line spool at appropriate place near the dead line anchor
Disconnected the cable connections on the rig floor from cable flip down and flip it down
Disconnected the cable connections to the Mud instrumentation system, gas detection system etc. at rig floor.
Disconnected the cable connections from the drillers cabin
Nipple down the rat hole
Open the fast end of utility winch lines, man rider line. (After mast down secure on the mast upper suction)
Disconnected the hydraulic cathead lines from manual tongs and secure on the mast
Nipple down the manual tongs and coil the counter weight lines
Remove the travelling block hang off line
N/Dn belly board
N/Dn the flat catwalks and keep the inclined catwalk
N/Dn the ODS side handrail on the platform just before the stairs (it will be deformed if not taken out)
Disconnected the TDS service loop
Disconnected the hydraulic lines of the TDS
Nipple down of bop control panel & choke manifold control panel.
All rig floor equipments & handling tools has been removed from the floor & secured properly.
Mast inspection to check any drop objects & identify the loose items/lines which may be stuck-up during lowering.
Make up the mast HPU connections
Flush the mast erection cylinders of hydraulic oil
Install Yo-Yo on the mast cylinders
Connected handling cylinders to mast cylinders
Adjust the angle of mast cylinders to align with drill floor connections points
Pin up the mast erection cylinders on the floor pad Eye. Take the help of handling cylinders
Once both mast cylinders are secured to DS drill floor and ODS drill floor remove pins that secure the skidding claws on each side
Rotate and disable the self locking tongs on the bottom boxes
Grease the bottom boxes on the part where the cross beam will travel
Start lowering the floor with the mast erecting cylinders. Watch for obstructions on all the four sides and under the floor.
Pressure on the working pressure gauge should not be more than 2800 psi
Retract both mast cylinders simultaneously. Keep an eye on YoYo & counter check by actual measuring of the cross beam travel on the bottom box.
A spotter will make sure both sides of the drill floor go down evenly.
When both mast cylinders are fully retracted, extend both floor booster cylinders until they are in full contact with the drill floor
While drill floor weight is being supported by the floor boost cylinders, remove the pins that connect both cylinders to the drill floor
Using handling cylinders, pivot mast cylinders to a vertical position.
Now lower the floor by retracting Floor Boost cylinders carefully watching for obstructions under the structure.
Gently lower the floor to match the pin up pad eyes on the bottom box
Pin up the floor to the bottom box by using all the eight pins.
Lower the top drive & travelling block to the lower mast parking spot & secure both dollies with pins onto the guide track.
Open the cradle connections on the TDS. Open the cable connections between the Mast upper & lower sections. Take out the cables from outside Mast to the TDS side (Tie the drill lines above travelling block to the mast on other side of the service loop).
Open the TDS service loop mounting on the mast & N/Dn the service loop. Release the drill line on travelling block.
Install the DS & ODS mast erecting cylinders on the mast pad eyes with the help of auxiliary cylinders & mast pin cylinders.
Send one crew to racking board to look for any loose materials that may fall down while lowering the mast. Fold the working platform of racking board.
Send one crew to racking board to look for any loose materials that may fall down while lowering the mast. Fold the working platform of racking board.
N/Dn utility winches.
N/Dn the Inclined catwalk.
N/Dn the access ladder to stabbing board.
Open stand pipe connections between lower & upper connections of the mast.
Place the Mast Head rest at a distance of 83 feet from the end of the front bottom box.
Take off the Rear mast leg pins. Take the help of Hydraulic jacks installed under the leg & a T-Bar for hammering out the pins.
Extend mast break-over cylinders on the drill floor, simultaneously retract the mast cylinders. Mast break-over cylinders help mast cylinders with the initial motion of tilting the mast.
After the mast legs are 2-1/2 feet off the ground, retract break-over cylinders fully. After that use only the mast erecting cylinders to take the mast down.
While lowering the mast, keep one person positioned on the Drill line spool & four persons on all four sides of the mast. The Fast end of the drill line should not come under tension or should not get stuck in the mast.
Also the Deadline should be watched & initially secured away from the mast. Usually it has the tendency to hit the mast pin cylinder in the beginning of mast lowering operation.
While lowering watch the Yoyo readings. The mast cylinders should close equally to avoid twisting action on the mast.
Working pressure should not go more than 2800 psi at any point of time during the entire lowering operation.
